• The glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP1R) is a receptor protein found on beta cells of the pancreas and on neurons of the brain. It is involved in the control of blood sugar levels by enhancing insulin secretion.

Gene targeting strategy for B-Glp1r KO mice(C).

• The genome sequences between exons 2-3 in mouse Glp1r gene were depleted in B-Glp1r KO mice(C).

Protein expression analysis:

• Mouse GLP1R protein was detectable only in wild-type BALB/cCrSlcNifdc mice but not in B-Glp1r KO mice(C).

mRNA expression analysis:

• Mouse Glp1r mRNA was detectable only in wild-type BALB/cCrSlcNifdc mice but not in B-Glp1r KO mice(C).

Strain specific analysis of Glp1r mRNA expression in wild-type BALB/cCrSlcNifdc mice and B-Glp1r KO mice(C) by RT-PCR. Brain RNA was isolated from wild-type BALB/cCrSlcNifdc mice and homozygous B-Glp1r KO mice(C)  (-/-), then cDNA libraries were synthesized by reverse transcription, followed by PCR with mouse Glp1r primers. Mouse Glp1r mRNA was detectable only in wild-type BALB/cCrSlcNifdc mice but not in B-Glp1r KO mice(C).
