Gene targeting strategy for B-hCD68 mice.
The exons 2~6 of mouse Cd68 gene that encode the extracellular domain were replaced by human CD68 exons 2~6 in B-hCD68 mice.
Strain specific CD68 expression analysis in homozygous B-hCD68 mice by flow cytometry. Blood(A) and spleen(B) were collected from wild-type C57BL/6 mice (+/+) and homozygous B-hCD68 mice (H/H), and analyzed by flow cytometry with species-specific anti-CD68 antibody. Mouse CD68 was exclusively detectable in wild-type mice. Human CD68 was exclusively detectable in homozygous B-hCD68 mice but not in wild-type mice.
