Strain specific analysis of VLDLR mRNA expression in wild-type C57BL/6N mice and B-hVLDLR mice by RT-PCR. Testis and brain RNA were isolated from wild-type C57BL/6N mice (+/+) and homozygous B-hVLDLR mice (H/H), then cDNA libraries were synthesized by reverse transcription, followed by PCR with mouse or human VLDLR primers. Mouse Vldlr mRNA was detectable only in wild-type C57BL/6N mice. Human VLDLR mRNA was detectable only in homozygous B-hVLDLR mice but not in wild-type mice.
